Martin Pykalo Architect Inc.Expertise
Martin Pykalo Architect Inc. works across the full path from early project definition to contract documents, construction and closeout. The same technical discipline supports new construction, renovation, workplace and commercial projects, community facilities, housing and focused independent roles where experienced architectural judgement is needed.

Architecture and Prime Consulting
We lead multidisciplinary teams from early planning and approvals through coordinated construction documents, procurement and construction.
The practice begins by making scope, authority, deliverables and decision paths explicit. That clarity carries into consultant coordination, regulatory submissions, technical development and the administration of the construction contract.
On projects led by another architectural firm, that Architect and Prime Consultant is named prominently and our contribution is described as a separate, defined scope.

Modular and off-site construction
Our modular experience includes architectural leadership, design-build collaboration and independent technical review across permanent, rapid and temporary projects.
10documented modular or off-site commissions active during the 2017–2026 period
The work addresses the points where modular delivery succeeds or fails: programme and code assumptions, repeatable unit design, factory and site scopes, structural and services interfaces, transportation and craning, authority approvals, envelope continuity, commissioning and completion.
Our project credits distinguish between the Architect, design-builder, modular manufacturer and technical-review team on every assignment.
The portfolio includes architectural commissions led by Martin Pykalo Architect Inc., collaboration within design-build teams and owner-side technical review. The role is stated for each record; experience with a delivery method is not presented as authorship of another firm's work.
Contract documentation and construction
Documentation and construction administration are core architectural services within the practice, not downstream production tasks.
Architectural information developed alongside structure, building systems, civil, landscape, code and specialist requirements.
Written requirements, product standards and procurement information aligned with the drawings and the selected delivery model.
Submittal and question review, supplemental information, change administration, payment review and timely communication through construction.
Documented observations, deficiency tracking, completion milestones and the records needed to bring outstanding work to resolution.
Owner-retained service
Martin Pykalo Architect Inc. provides owner-retained payment-certification services where an architect independent of the constructor's design team is required to assess progress claims and administer payment-related certifications.
This role can be particularly valuable on design-build projects, where an owner may choose to appoint its own Payment Certifier rather than rely on a consultant retained by the design-builder. We act impartially when making determinations under the construction contract.
A project-specific appointment may include reviewing progress applications, schedules of values and supporting information; comparing claimed value with observed progress and contract requirements; certifying amounts properly due; maintaining a clear written record; and supporting completion and lien-holdback milestones.
The scope does not replace the professional responsibilities of the project's Architect and Prime Consultant or other consultants.
Focused technical roles
Our advisory scopes are matched to the decision an owner or project team needs to make. Each service is described without overstating our responsibility for another firm's work.
Defined-scope architectural peer review at design, documentation, construction and closeout stages, with the project's Architect and Prime Consultant identified.
Existing-condition analysis, code and approval strategy, careful intervention and documentation suited to the constraints of an existing building.
Focused studies that test programme, regulatory context, building condition, delivery risk and the next decisions needed before a larger commitment.
Guideline development, standards comparison, constructability review, code analysis and owner-side quality oversight.
