Practice

A focused practice built around the work

Martin Pykalo Architect Inc. is a principal-led architectural practice based on Bowen Island and working across British Columbia.

How the practice works

Scale the team to the assignment

Martin Pykalo Architect Inc. assembles project-specific teams of experienced collaborators and specialist consultants, allowing each commission to be matched with the skills it requires.

The practice combines design capability with technical development, consultant coordination, specifications, construction administration, independent review and project closeout. Remote collaboration is supported by structured communication, cloud-based coordination and direct principal involvement.

That delivery knowledge applies across new construction, adaptive reuse, workplace and commercial interiors, community facilities, technical studies and housing. Team size and specialist input change with the work; the standard of coordination does not.

We may lead the architectural team, contribute a focused scope within another firm's team or serve in an independent owner-retained role. The appointment and its boundaries are made clear in project descriptions and working documents.

Professional clarity

Credit is part of project quality

Every public project record identifies who held architectural authorship and coordinating responsibility, who retained Martin Pykalo Architect Inc., who used the project and which consultants and constructors contributed.

Where another firm was Architect or Prime Consultant, that firm is named prominently and our supporting role is limited to verified services. Sequential firms are credited for their respective stages. Images are published only when ownership, permission and photographer credit are established.

Martin Pykalo Architect Inc. is the firm's full approved name. Professional titles are used only for individuals entitled to use them, and registrations are reviewed as project records are maintained.
